For metalheads who have listened to the studio output from Graveland over the past twenty-five years, experiencing a live version feels odd and uncanny, and definitely “new.” That the band will be struggling with unattainable heights it established for itself is obvious. When seen in Poland on April 29, 2016, other dimensions of the experience revealed themselves as well.

Vader are touring North America this year in support of their mediocre new release, The Empire. Hopefully Vader will play a good amount of material from their better, older releases such as The Ultimate Incantation and De Profundis. Tour dates and the press release are after the jump.

Lord Wind quietly released a new demo late last year for free download on Bandcamp. The Graveland side project’s last album, Ales Stenar, was one of the best of 2012. Hopefully a new record will follow soon.

Graveland‘s 1050 Years of Pagan Cult rerecordings of Rob Darken’s greatest hits from the best of Graveland‘s black metal period is available now for download on Bandcamp. This release appears to be another rerecording for losers with iPhones who want to hear old songs with a modern, less necro production.
