American beer got a lot of flack, but that reflects the situation forty years ago. Now, a number of independent breweries make great beer, and as in everything else, if you avoid the normie product designed for cultureless desire zombies, you can find some good stuff.

I wish I could report a greater success here, since this beer is from our Scots-Irish neighbors to the North in Dallas, but this beer takes an IPA and moves it closer to an American adjunct beer. Heavy overtones of citrus, squash, and boiled grain afflict what is otherwise a solid IPA.

Paradigm Brewing Company – Precision
No one doubts that hipsters must die, but first we should thank them for bestowing upon us the resurgence of India Pale Ales. These get beer past the soft drink phase by reducing sweetness and instead dialing up the slightly spicy hops bitterness for a cleanly refreshing beer.
