Death metal followed a standard distribution like everything else. At first, a few pioneers patched it together out of what they had at the time, then a generation of bands emerged who solidified the style, followed by others who tried to make sense of that strong lead, before the imitators came.

It is with a heavy heart that the DMU staff mourns the loss of one of their own.
Earlier today, we were alerted to the sad news that Brock Dorsey, our fearless leader and editor, has passed on. Brock was killed in a horrific sky diving accident over the Hamptons during a luxurious vacation with several other venture capitalists. (more…)

Florida death metal band Eulogy re-issued their discography as a limited edition CD and vinyl album on Dark Symphonies Records last year. The recording features the The Essence EP (1993) which is both heavily bootlegged and even more insanely overpriced than normal on eBay, and the 1992 demo “Dismal.” Both releases have been remastered from the original analog tapes.
