War Master clandestinely premiered a new track from their upcoming second album, To Live Suffices To Conquer, on their sold-out Japan only compilation CD. The new track abandons most of the Bolt Thrower influence in favor of the Carnage and Dismember ones introduced on the Blood Dawn EP. Enjoy it now on Youtube:

Absurd‘s Der fünfzehnjährige Krieg CD of old tracks rerecorded by the current line up is being reissued by Hammer of Damnation for everyone who wishes Absurd’s older material had a sterile metalcore production. Hopefully the reissue is better than the horrible Asgardsrei one.

Article by Lance Viggiano.
Burzum and Beherit each represent two summits of black metal’s many perspectives – in particular its looking back to look ahead ethos. The work of Laiho is exploratory and spiritual while the work of Varg is seeking and religious. Each composer followed a similar trajectory of mapping this landscape through metal first, then ambient. Each phase reveals strengths and weakness in each of their aims which results in a somewhat complementary synthesis between two highly individual bodies of work.

Dismember have restocked their BigCartel store. Hopefully they restock it again as they’re already sold out of all sizes but extra large for the red and white shirts. From their Funbook page:
1 CommentDismembered ’88 shirts are back up! We won’t be able to ship anything out until next Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday. Also, please note the slight increase in postage; we didn’t realize how ridiculous it costs to send shirts to Canada and overseas and unfortunately there’s nothing we can do…sorry! As always, thanks for sharing n’ caring!

Paramus, NJ band Monument Of A Memory creates what some call “modern death metal” and others, with a nod to its origins in a late punk/death metal hybrid, deathcore. The band is about to release its second recording, Catharsis, and vocalist Tommy Gehringer and bassist Josh Correa took the time to give us some insight on music and the theory of being a metal band in the current age.
