Dying civilizations operate from one principle alone: keep the pivot of power functional so that everyone stays together and the civilization does not follow inertia and simply disintegrate. This is both their diagnosis and therapy.

Yet another week passes as we watch the cope-hope reach maximum intensity through a form of frustrated and impotent rage. The narrative has failed; those who have staked their futures and wasted their pasts on the system find themselves both enraged and possessed of a furor to suppress those who step out of line. If this system fails, they will all feel as if they have made the wrong choices in life, so they are going to patch it up again to see if they can keep it kicking long enough to make it into the comforting sleep of Alzheimers or fentanyl.

Do You Miss the Old School Girl Scouts “Thin Mints”? Try the Sprouts Mint Chip Malt Balls
Disclaimer: no one is going to pay us for any endorsements on this site, but just so you know, this poast is both unsolicited and unpaid.
Maybe you remember the Girl Scouts cookies from the pre-Clinton years: flavorful, two bucks for a large box, and available from innocent female children who could spot a red-eyed metalhead at twenty paces and walk away with a huge sale.

19 CommentsThey say you’ve born to the eternal kidness
and that was conceived by divine grace
that came to end with the perversion and evil
and died on the cross to humanity saveThe perversion and evil only started after you came
because you were only a crazy liar
false saints were with you on your insanity
and the more stupids believed on youThieves and corrupts
now elited priests
they sell pieces
of cloth saying it was yours
the chief of insanity
now is reigning at rome
the perversion and evil
only started after you came

Sadistic Metal Reviews: Dumpster Rape Edition
Some thought that American society died with Jerry Springers. Others like William Gibson, who should know better, think it died with the Bush presidency. Those of us with any attention span know that the decay even predated April 9, 1866, when the Civil Rights Act was signed. The decay is innate.

RIP Burke Shelley (1950-2022)
On January 10, Burke Shelley — bassist, songwriter, and pathfinder of NWOBHM-prog hybrid outlier Budgie — passed away in his hometown of Cardiff, Wales. A hybrid that sounded like Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, and Yes in an infernal three-way, Budgie possessed its own style and vision of the world, leading to an enormous influence on much of metal and rock to follow.

Sadistic Metal Reviews: Forever January 6, 2020 Edition
It is now painfully clear that modern society has entered its endgame. Our agricultural miracle based on fossil fuels has reversed itself, no one trusts the sham elections, intelligent people are not reproducing, our infrastructure has rotted, technological development has stalled, most people have gone insane, and hope-cope has replaced solid thinking as we try to rationalize the decline.

Proscriptor McGovern’s Apsû – Proscriptor McGovern’s Apsû (2021)
The organization that was Absu before transsexualism destroyed it has been steadily moving away from songs in its works after The Third Storm Of Cythrául, with a brief jaunt into its influences with In The Eyes Of Ioldánach, but at this point it has become merely a riff carnival.

Ravenous Death – Visions from the Netherworld (2022)
Offering many unique riffs and twists in songs, this album shows Ravenous Death following its heroes Vomitory in making primitive death metal that incorporates melody and even keyboards for atmosphere in the midst of speed-metal-influenced chugging riffs that build in a kind of basic groove.

Satanic Panic – Satanic Panic (2021)
Making a rough but streamlined hybrid of war metal riffing and later thrash like SOD, Satanic Panic seemed to aim to capitalize on the recent resurrection of the 1980s trend of blaming “Satan” for every human stupidity, replacing climate change, racism, Communism, cults, and other bogeymen.
