The short riff phrases that lack end variation (in the Immolation style) and the catchy guitar leads that worm their way into the brain give Cold Logic an almost memetic quality. Shards of Humanity present mood music that requires a receptive energy in the listener to pick up on the energy that exhausts itself rather quickly.
While the energy itself proves unsustainable, and many of these riff borrow from speed metal and thrash with the associated heritage of hard rock, it delivers a concise view of the world that can be grasped within the prism of that frenetic descend into chaos and rise into expectation.
