Some would compare this to grindcore with a touch of death metal, but it sounds more like mid-period Impaled Nazarene (Latex Cult era) mixed with a B+ level Autopsy clone, and uses this simple formula to make three-part songs: a verse riff, chorus riff, and a more melodic transition to keep an air of mystery.
Using chromatic riffs played on single notes or two-finger power chords, Megascavenger builds up a wave of inertia and then reverses it with a hook for the chorus, repeating this until the need comes to either bend that path with a transition or fade out with a riff harmonizing onto itself.
Classic heavy metal and even glam metal appear in these riffs, but stacked among the burly grinding but energetic basic death metal for which the personnel of this band are famous, it becomes sort of like the Scandinavian Nunslaughter: lots of varied riffs, similar rhythms, and punk delivery with hints of metal melody.
