Before you ask, the answer is no; you haven’t overdosed on power metal yet. You’re still alive and reading about how Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, and Delain (whom I’ve never heard of but was apparently formed by an ex-member of Within Temptation) are about to tour the United States and Canada. If you absolutely had to hear tracks from Endless Forms Most Beautiful in a live context, now might present a golden opportunity for you, or at least a yellowish one. However, this tour is apparently popular enough that some of its earlier dates have already sold out. Expect musical literacy, science advocacy, overblown melodrama, and whatever Sonata Arctica does to rule these nights.

Oh man, I hope I can bring some wicked salty snacks and saccharine sodas to this one!
I think they’ll make you buy overpriced ones at the venues, assuming they have anything at all besides alcoholic drinks.
If there aren’t salty snacks and sugary sodas, it’ll be a total bust.
I got very thirsty during Deathfest 2015 and decided to buy an over priced saccharine soda to quench my thirst when one band was getting off the stage and the next was getting on.
The line was too long, and I couldn’t get back to the front. I ended up consuming my soda in < 10 seconds and listening to a great performance by Obituary from behind a huge fat ass.
DMU needs to feature more U DM and stop promoting this power metal crap.
Plenty of shitty US DM reviewed here, in case you didn’t notice. We don’t go out of our way to find all this crap, this crap is what there is out there, it’s what is getting promoted these days.
When I said “more U DM” I literally meant “more Underground Death Metal”.
Admittedly, at the time of commenting, I was too lazy to fully explain what I meant, which was:
Despite the site’s name, I understand that the scope of DMU’s coverage goes beyond the Death Metal genre. I also understand that once in a while, a mainstream band may do/say/release something which deserves in-depth analysis and comment here. But why publicise news of a shitty mainstream band’s new album or tour? It’s pointless clutter.
…Or is it some kind of experiment to achieve a wider presence for DMU in search engine results and news feeds, and thus increase the chance of fans of these mainstream bands visiting DMU and being exposed to viewpoints that they won’t find anywhere else?
In other shit sex related news, Black Witchery’s guitarist just died.
I met Steve Childers(tregenda with black witchery) and spoke with him on several occasions, I do have a couple of friends who knew him much better than I did. It was always cool to talk metal with him. Perhaps, he’s on the other side desecrating the holy kingdom hahaha. Seriously though, he will be missed. We’ve lost way too many metal musicians this past year.
RIP
Ha look at the one in the top hat
Speaking of Nightwish and less brutal metal in general, is their current drummer Kai Hahto still going to play with Wintersun?
The picture of them looks a bit gay. Is it ok to say that on here Big Brother??
