The legacy of Suffocation continues, at least in some form, as the band is currently writing material for a new album, possibly to come out some time in 2016 if all goes well. Suffocation’s recent works have lacked the strong organization of their 1990s peak, and it seems unlikely that this one will be a significant improvement. However, a fiscally successful album release may lead to a new cycle of touring, and possibly a chance for our readers to see the band perform some of their old classics in a live setting. An actual review of the as-of-yet unnamed album will probably show up on this site closer to its release date.

Are they going to actually have real drums this time or use fucking EZdrummer?
I saw them back in 2013, about half the songs they played were post-1995. No t-shirts of the classic albums at their merch table, either. The musicianship was top notch and hearing Liege of Inveracity and Thrones of Blood live was great, but overall I was disappointed. Looking at their setlist.fm page, their set lists have improved since then, but you might want to check there before you spend your hard earned cash on this upcoming tour.
To be fair, Despise The Sun was post-1995 (1998). I’d expect a new album to take up much of the setlist, but the odds of hearing other post-reformation material might be proportionately reduced on a hypothetical 2016 tour.
It really depends on what tour you see them. If you want to hear the good old stuff, don’t go see Suffocation on the tour for the new album when they will play half of it and then the old stuff; Go see them at some festival.
