Rob Darken posted his own account to the Graveland website of how anti-fascists and communists shut down the Messe des Morts VI festival in Montreal late last year. As readers are probably aware, the local police eventually shutdown the festival and forbid Graveland from taking the stage.

Ought to be mentioned here: There was a Graveland gig scheduled on 2017/02/18 in the London Underworld. It got cancelled on request of the bar staff “after the nature of the band’s music came to light”.
I don’t particularly like the music of Graveland (I generally disklike ‘epicness’) and also think that Darken surely excels in the fine art of shooting his mouth off, whatever political opinions he made in public in the past or will make in public in the future shouldn’t matter for him to be allowed to work as ‘touring musician’ if he so desires. The idea that ‘the bar stuff’ (any bar staff) gets to decree which bands are or aren’t allowed to perform in public based on ‘evualating’ more or less well-founded rumours about political opinions of the band members is quite repellent.
As “vote with your feet” is the only thing likely to help here, I will henceforth refrain from attending anything at the Underworld.
“Bar staff” needs to shut up & stick to making my drink.
One simple thing: if next to the entrance “masked protesters” act violently why police simply don’t fucking arrest them, especially if there is a rumour they might spread gas or do other act of terror?
The Montreal police were collaborating with them.
“De-escalation”.
