Swedish black metal band Necrophobic is planning a short four show tour of Chile this June. Chilean fans should check them out especially as their best vocalist, Anders Strokirk off of The Nocturnal Silence, has rejoined the band. Hopefully they will play their best, early material.
From the band’s Facebook page:

Aka The band with Eric Hoffman’s long lost twin sons.
“Hopefully they will play their best, early material.” Yeah, that’s what I thought about that whole Cavalera Return to the Roots tour. Waste of $25.00.
You should have ran away when the bongos were brought out…

Man, I never heard these niggas until a couple weeks ago — olddisgruntledbastard.com put their hit LP up against “The Red & the Sky is Ours”, a pairing at once pretty fucking brazen/ anachronistic and laudatory.

The problem with stretching that album match out over months and months is that he mentioned that all the albums were fed into a randomizer only once, so this is mainly all people talk about when discussing the articles.
Oh. Fed into a randomizer? How many times would you recommend he randomize it…?
P.S. That’s a dope album name, “Fed into a Randomiser”.
I meant that people think the match ups were deliberate and therefore are the only comments that are made about them, a lot of them are dismissive out of feigned disgust as well. He needs a big red disclaimer but that would go against his choice sense of aesthetics. Currently the best metal writing on the internet.
The ranting against “lotus metal” and praise of random b list albums from back in the day is the best? Really? I enjoy Gabe Kagan’s Invisible Sandwich and DARG’s Praefuscus Ferrum blogs much more than Old Disgruntled Bastard. ODB is at his best when he writes about the best, not the Indian metal scene, “lost gems”, or mosh metal.
What the fuck is “lotus metal”?! LOL. Is that Indian Death Metal?
Still, D… Overall, he hews to a conservative Old School mentality and value-system, not far from your own firm’s — as with y’alls’ taste in older music.
I can’t speak to the “praise of random b list albums”, but his mentality seems such that his praise is probably well-placed.
It is a good opportunity to see how they perform on stage and if they are at the level of the biggest, it is good that they have similar tastes to old school rock, everything can happen on stage so it is a matter of experimenting.
Definitely like to see some US tour dates.
