Relapse Records and Incantation both recently announced through their various websites (including Incantation’s official page) that Incantation is rejoining Relapse’s roster. Incantation’s most recent studio albums (including 2014’s Dirges of Elysium) had been released through Listenable Records; this change of record labels coincides with the band’s upcoming album, which is currently being recorded at the band’s own studio. Incantation will also be touring Europe in April alongside Morgoth, Darkrise, and Omophagia, as well as playing the Czech “Obscene Extreme Festival”. Hopefully, the new album will not be afflicted the “tiredness” a DMU contributor saw in the band’s recent studio work.

Did you purposely use this picture because they look sleepy or is that a coincidence?
This was the photo included in the press release. I’m surprised to see McEntee in there because he said that he was leaving the band some time last year, I think.
That would be odd considering McEntee has been the only consistent member of Incantation throughout the years. I think he writes most of the music too.
Yes, though I just checked around and can’t find any confirmation that he plans on leaving the band. It could have just been a rumor or I may have misunderstood when I read about it.
Without McEntee it would cease to be incantation.
kyle has a moustache
I also hear that Mike Mahan has gingivitis
That’s the promo pic!
With all due respect to all the folk who visit this site and its staff,
Italian band CATACOMB is truly a lost gem. I hope David Rosales and or Gabe listen to this band because it is better than any album Incantation released after 1997.

It isn’t a bad band but French, not Italian.
Relapse releasing decent music? TAU CROSS, and now this? There are child steps from their newer generic novelty grindcore/post-metal/sludge acts, but I guess that’s better than nothing.
Last Incantation album that was worthy was diabolical conquest, they pretty much descended into mediocrity afterwards. They didn’t put out anything atrocious, but nothing like their early works. I highly doubt that the new album will be any different. I’ll just stick with onward to golgotha, mortal throne of Nazarene and the entrantment of evil ep with will rahmer on vocals. Incantation did have a good run though and are still good to see live.
Agreed, saw them when they came through my state back in 2014 (maybe even 2013) and they put on an excellent performance. Even played Devoured Death and several other old songs.
