“Beg To Differ” was designed to sound like a vanilla-chocolate kid all geared in his baggy garment & rasta hairdo taking his morning walk, slightly stoned, his flask hip hoppin’ on the natural beat of his pelvis, up to his Community Center’s c.entral c.ommittee b.ureau to have a quicky with the afro-headed General Secretary & then chat some on the up-coming antifa march on that broke, estranged white geezer’s lawn, and organizing the monthly handout of contraceptives and the ‘Lil Red Book outside the neighborhood’s High while having a post fuck menthol.

  2. - Dong-ey Prong - says:

Yet, BTD grabs this urban, concrete block sound promised on “Justice” and manages probably the one speed metal record worth keeping. To be fair on a spent ‘Tallica, “One” & “to Live is to Die” are, for all their sentimentality, among their best. And, consciously or not, the technicality charged aspect of it does hear its impact on “Legion”.

  3. Sodomizer of al-Jewhovah says:

Speed metal is all we got left. Black metal died of AIDS and death metal is busy watching futbol.

    1. • cannabis is only an entry drug • says:

Instead of gettin’ all moody, it’s always fun to share stories of old speedmetalheads and their individual tragedies. It’s even more fun finding a survivor, hit it on with him, and, once you gain his trust, try and get into the auswitz/angelofdeath argument. It’ll show you, well, what you already know, that you can’t get some from where there isn’t any.

  4. are you caught in a mosh says:

The UK is getting treated to some Terrorizer shows end of this month with both Pete Sandoval and David Vincent on the tour. Glad it’s happening as I’ve never seem them live.

  5. AMY BIDEN says:

I’m tempted to band Dimension Hätross up with it but, to these ears, it’s more a punk/new-wave/industrial statement with metal & prog only coincidental really.

    1. Voivod wanted to be a punk Pink Floyd. Not much metal in ’em.

      1. • Syd Barrett • says:

First two Floyd rule, kinda. After Me, one or two memorable hits and a lot of hype. Voivod’s early work is confused throwaway punk, mid-later stuff’s garbage as well. D.H. is a flawed masterpiece, individual tracks & the record as a hole needed more work. Vocals are hideous, the concept in them is correct, it’s this Child Lover’s attitude that damages them.. In all though, Dimension Hätross and Streetcleaner are the two Nailed Industrial Albums In Existence. Everythin’ else I heard tagged Industrial, + whatever, is monkey banging.

  6. Howling Englishman and the Motor Heads says:

Add Swans Cop – Young God to the two above. Often forgotten, in part the middle ground between Discharge and Godflesh.

  7. Music listener says:

Both the far left and right gaslight you into thinking that centrism/apoliticality is not good enough and that you have to pick a side in order to be considered human.

There needs to be an extremist apolitical movement that that stands for “life is too short – leave me the fuck alone”.

    1. Yeah, that’s monarchism.

    2. Flying Kites says:

We are either living in the present or in the past trying to prove to ourselves that what has happened is real and furthermore conforms to our definition of the human being we have committed to in order to act. Funk human being and funk Joe Biden. The potatoes are from the New World, you morons!

  8. Rectal blasphemy says:

Who’s a worse director, Christopher Nolan or Denis Villeneuve?

Nolan makes high budget propaganda-laden normie-movies that try hard to be deep and takes themselves laughably serious, while Villeneuve pretty much lives off butchering established classics into oblivion.

My vote goes to Nolan, because he’s been around longer in the over-glorified turd business, but who knows, maybe Denis will take the cake for his future conclusion of the atrociously boring modern Dune trilogy.

    1. Life is easy says:

Nolan. Who has always made produkt. Villeneuve only recently started butchering classics and his movies prior to that are merely forgettable.

    2. Howling Englishman and the Motor-Heads says:

“Prisoners” ’13, is good, both in atmosphere & theme. And I dig the Tool-Language concept in “Arrival”, a boring film otherwise.

  9. Thrash is better than Black or Death says:

Slaughter in the Vatican is a masterpiece. I could never get into The Law, sounds to much like Pantera. For a brief moment, Thrash was becoming extremely heavy with bands like Exhorder, Revenant, Demolition Hammer and Torture from Texas. Alas, the metal scene thought growling like a retarded Cookie Monster was the way to go.

    1. Metal lives says:

      But you are dead

    2. × Infectious Hospital Waste × says:

.. is the only worthwhile 3-4 minutes out of everything you list above. It’s telling, isn’t it?
Distorted vocals assisted musicians & accelerated metal’s evolution in 2 ways:
      a. They turned vox into an ( additional ) instrument instead of merely a statements yell, just like a second guitar did for it 10-15 years prior.
      b. It erased and buried terminally the illusion that metal could ever reach broader audiences in the minds of metalheads. 99%ers disliked it before, now they were appalled.
      c. Metal maintaining an appeal still in the ’90s was only due to father-to-son & pop-ification effects.

    3. Churchgoing Gamer Vaper who prays for your wretched miserable lonely soul says:

sir, The Law is the only good Exhorder because it isn’t boring me too thrash metal but pantera made to be heterosexual.

Also please get over the whole ACKSHUALLY ITS SPEED METAL thing, it makes you seem gay.

      1. pantera made to be heterosexual

Unpossible. Pantera is blues-country-rock. Metal is metal. Pantera needs to get on a boat bound for Mongolia, Africa, or the middle east.

        it makes you seem gay

According to the internet, I am gay. At this point, I claim to be gay Jewish and Black just to set off a string of gamer words.

        1. curio says:

I want you to know that you have my full support in your transition to post-human and a future full of herpes and AIDS filled dicks.

  10. AMY BIDEN says:

Drop Hammer: Mind & Body 1991. A one-off, not bad..

  11. Churchgoing Gamer Vaper who prays for your wretched miserable lonely soul says:

Brett, thanks for keeping this gay hookup site going, it means a lot to us.

    please review this album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0DTAoBCf4A

its mastermind is the second guitarist on Intestine Baalism’s album Ultimate Instinct which you reviewed (HIV)positively back in the day.

    1. Deathmetal.org: your source for poz sodomy in the underground!

  12. Anal Fissures says:

Does Deathmetal.org need a field reporter? Not a peep about Destroying Texas Fest, the new lineup of Cruciamentum with Matt Heffner on drums solidifying a UK/Texas connection, Unaussprechlichen Kulten flying all the fucking way from Chile to play a show in a stripmall in Houston, Crucifier playing live with no lefty interference and Sacramentum proving to be a bunch of washed up barely was beens capitalizing on the “hey you got this CD too right?” angle that is nearing it’s end as every band that has existed in the past has reformed for shows or reunion albums to varying degrees of success. I mainly feel bad for Brutality and Hellwitch, who came back strong, but they really are nothing but another logo to cram on a fest poster so you can the lineup is “stacked” on social media. You talk Texas and metal yet don’t bother to appear at the best fest going on, you weren’t scared when Black Witchery screamed at you in 2011 that bad were you?

  13. Leathery Rotating Rhino Anus says:

I made a bad digression there, Hellwitch and Brutality did not play THAT fest but, I saw them at other fests, they made return albums and upped their musicianship and put on a masterful showing of technical speed (Hellwitch) and technical death metal, I think the audience failed to appreciate that.

    1. Flying Kites says:

The only problem with visiting Metal concerts is to have not killed anybody, and to have eaten of their corpse and drunk of their hepatic blood. Otherwise, BLOOD of November 2017 in Seattle was very decent and I ought to have talked to the bands present there but I was too high on pure cane sugar to do so.
