Earache pushes Carcass LP box set

Carcass - Casket Case (2015)
On Friday, November 13th, you will be able to purchase Carcass’s latest compilation (Casket Case) for up to one minute. Earache Records claims that their previous ultra-limited box sets have sold out incredibly fast and it seems unlikely that this will be an exception. Casket Case features all five of the studio LPs Carcass released for Earache, meaning that you get the later underwhelming “melodic death metal” material as well as earlier, formative grindcore and death metal if you manage to get your hands on this. As a consolation price for those who fail to get their hands on this apparent bounty, Earache is also discounting the separate albums on CD for some time, as well as two compilations from when the band was dissolved during the late ’90s and early 2000s.

The Heartwork and Necroticism “Full Dynamic Range” CDs sound great if you give a shit about those albums. Tools of the Trade is present as bonus tracks on Necroticism.

For Reek and Symphonies, the best sounding versions are the “Full Dynamic Range” FLACs Earache has for purchase on bandcamp. Reek never had a good CD version and the original LP had to be pressed at a distortingly low volume as the bass was so downtuned.

I saw Carcass live on november 9th 2015, and the vocalist said, in between two pieces (paraphrased):

“Journalists keep asking us when we are going to record a new album. We’ll do it when our latest album becomes a classic. What we’re going to play next is from an album that took 15 fucking years. Reviews were shit, and sales were shit, but I know you’re going to bang your heads to it now”

Then they played some melodic death metal.

Overall, Carcass destroyed. So did Napalm Death. And Obituary were great.
It was the greatest 350 Swedish crowns that I have spent.

Carcass not drunk and tired are a good live band. Jeff Walker will troll and call Heartwork “Children of the Lie” and that one song off Surgical Shit “Holy Wars”. They still project images of diseased genitals and play Reek songs and you take a piss when they play Keep on Rotting. The risk you run is Carcass all getting shitfaced, being completely out of tune, or just not caring as yes they are trolls and Carcass is a small business.

Don’t they have a few good albums?
