As part of Peaceville Records’ holy mission to rerelease every shred of music they can, Dødheimsgard is releasing a vinyl pressing of their debut album on December 11th. I haven’t actually listened to Kronet Til Konge, but it’s apparently a fairly standard work of Norwegian black metal perhaps most notable for showcasing one of Fenriz’s many performances. It also predates both Dødheimsgard’s brief flirtation with the small black-thrash ‘movement’ (read: Monumental Possession) and their evolution into a goofy experimental metal act. This repress also contains the usual sort of additions – contemporary photographs, new liner notes, and other biographical material for the sake of added value.

“Fairly standard?” No, that would be the war metal and retrodeath regularly supported by the metal scene at large. The first two DHG albums roll up the catalogs of Blaspherian and Heresiarch, smoke them, and then eat the roaches.
No my friend . u r wrongg. Best thing about this 1 was probably the lyrics, ther are some good moments musically, esp.the funk/slap bass but it fails würse than a nirvana album on the whole. fenriz never regained himself artistically .Hurzz up!
Um. This album kicks ass. I never heard it before. War metal sucks and is for trendy people who have two brain cells. Anthony is right .
On second thoughts it’s not that bad, second half dwindles a bit. What you think of they other catalog?
