Diamond Head Release “Diamonds” Video

New Wave of British Heavy Metal band Diamond Head released a new music video for the hard rock “Diamonds” off their recent self-titled Diamond Head record to promote their upcoming US tour. Diamond Head infamously committed career suicide with the awful Canterbury just a few years after releasing the super influential to Metallica, Lightning to the Nations.

While their later material is not at all worth listening to put it lightly, hopefully Diamond Head will stick mainly to material off their lone record anybody cares about on this tour with a token nod to their tour excuse, half-assed recent record. They might be worth seeing as Brian Tatler can still play but the threat of wasting your money to hear large amounts of sell-out glam rock that sounds like 1980s and 1990s era Aerosmith is very, very real. Headbangers should be cautious.

glam? Aerosmith ?? mid-late 1980s Aero was just pop garbage, NOT even glam. Glam rock or glam metal usually had some kind of bite or edginess to it, unless it was the side of the street where Bon Jovi resides.

    > Ok, the riffing and song structure in the “Diamonds” video here reminds me of The Sweet, but SWEET were pretty fucking heavy in the early-mid 1970s compared to everybody else.
yeah, Black Sabbath was probably the heaviest, but Sweet had a lot of melody and were better looking to stay on pop radio WORLDWIDE, while Sabbath would remain only an FM radio act for stoners.

You should be more specific when describing (denigrating) any band as “glam” cuz it isn’t all the same, just as all death or thrash or black metal is not the same.
