Deicide At Their Fiery Best

Live in London on December 17, 1992, Deicide bashed out a heck of a show which reveals their original interpretation of the material on Legion and their re-assessment of their first album, namely by playing the former faster by a shade and adding textural complexity to the latter.

The result, a stunning festival of rage, shows how this band like Morbid Angel dominated the middle period death metal era. If nothing else, it will keep your blood pumping. Have a great weekend.

Wow, they really made the tracks from Deicide measure up to those from Legion here.

  5. Billy says:

Fuck yeah. For some reason, I have always preferred the majority of the s/t over the material from Legion.

  6. Very metal, such wow says:

Holy shit, this is the best I’ve ever heard this band. This video is where I’ll point people who need an introduction to the sheer energy of death metal.

Thanks for the review/recommendation. Great stuff!
I liked the Deicide debut as it reminded me of Slayer, but if Slayer went in a slightly different direction after the Hell Awaits LP.
Some new friends I made in the early 90s, were really crazy about the Legion album, but I didn’t care much for it at the time. Was much more vicious, and I should have been into it.

    Excellent!

I have a copy of the ‘Deny the Cross’ live bootleg, which I think is a recording from a tour they did around the same time, but this London recording has better sound quality – much clearer guitars.
