Following our review, this album disappeared into a flurry of new releases, so I returned to give it a listen. Most will appreciate the classic 1990s guitar tone but the faithfulness to old school while having its own voice is in my view its most attractive trait.
Luckily I was able to catch up with Condemner guitarist PB outside a show here in the concrete wasteland and pick up a copy. The album has gone on sale via Bandcamp which makes it easier than ever to score a copy for the long-distance fan.
The old school never went away, but metal got flooded with the post-Pantera groove/tuffguy material, which as it always does quickly morphed into an emo version, and now we have no shortage of bands writing navel-gazing material while threatening to beat up their ex-girlfriend’s new squeezes at Dollar General.
