In the early days of death metal, some contributions got overlooked because people were more interested in what was developing at the time. For example, brutal death metal overshadowed a lot of other bands, and when the audience caught up with American death metal, much European death metal got overlooked.
Cadaver …In Pains received a mixed reception at first because it was less about blasting intensity and more, like the black metal to follow, about developing a moody nocturnal vision. It matches up more with Darkthrone Soulside Journey and Disharmonic Orchestra Not To Be Undimensional Conscious.
This remaster brings out the bass and warms up the guitar sound somewhat so that harmony can be more clearly heard, and does so without sacrificing or over-emphasizing the vocals. It should give new life to an understated classic.

European death metal wanted to be profound, American death metal wanted to sodomize your skull.
In Europe, they have culture. In Americanstan, they have guts.
well they are way better at black metal
What’s more profound than penetrating my skull’s butthole?
Fisting Baby Jesus of course
Found another good remaster on the first Frozen Shadows album on soulseek.
And on the same platform found a fan-made remaster of Transilvanian Hunger that brings out the bass more and supresses the vocals, which is exactly what I wanted. I only wish Battles in the North would get the same treatment.
The first Uncanny, Monstrosity and Intestine Baalism albums need remastering also, but haven’t found any yet.
Generally, it seems that too much focus on the vocals kills music… just like too much focus on the human kills humanity.
Well, here you go, enjoy!

Holy shit, the rapist approves!
Rape is just another method of demotism. You vote, you buy, you rape. This is how we are going to change this society.
Such a fucking masterpiece! I love this album along with Hallucinating Anxiety. I sort of like Hallucinating a little more because of the more raw sound it has. Great Norwegian Death metal!
