The late Ronnie James Dio left Black Sabbath with drummer Vinny Appice to pursue a more mainstream, vocal-driven hybrid of hard rock and heavy metal that laid the groundwork for later vocal-driven, power metal. Rhino Entertainment has announced a remastered box set of Dio’s first six albums on CD and LP for everyone who wants to buy them again.

Ya, I read about this on metalundergroud.com a few days ago……..
A site that only publishes press releases.
Ride the tiger, motherfuckers!
the first 2 Dio Lp’s were great, then I started losing interest (with the Sacred Heart LP) and never bothered buying any others, as the little I heard did not blow me away.
Cool, having the albums available on vinyl easily again fro the fans, and hope they are NOT remixed, and this is remastered only.
Would have been BETTER if they did a comprehensive box set of EVERYTHING by DIO, because aren’t there quite a few live singles / EP’s / mini LP’s / albums, and non-album tracks?
Most DIO fans, if they were casual fans and now into getting more recordings, willing to pay for this “DECADE” set, would also spend the extra money to buy the complete discography I bet.
You know,
Have not thought about DIO much since he died, but when I do, blast full loud his Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell albums (and bootlegs/live tapes).
