Featuring members of Blaspherian and War Master, Cemetarian creates a style of Tampa death metal with a surface Swedish style and its own mixture of plodding doom metal verses and classic death metal riff-centric layers emerging from those.

Some say the spirit of black metal experienced an afterlife in dungeon synth, the fusion of Conan soundtracks and traditional folk music that took life in projects like Lord Wind, later Burzum, Ice Ages, and even tangential more ambient soundscape projects from Ildjarn, Beherit, and Neptune Towers.

Sound Waves, Like Light, Behave Like Particles
It turns out that sound behaves like both wave and particle much as light does:
Researchers have gained control of the elusive “particle” of sound, the phonon. Although phonons — the smallest units of the vibrational energy that makes up sound waves — are not matter, they can be considered particles the way photons are particles of light. Photons commonly store information in prototype quantum computers, which aim to harness quantum effects to achieve unprecedented processing power. Using sound instead may have advantages, although it would require manipulating phonons on very fine scales.
In other words, waves and particles behave the same way, suggesting that pattern is more important than form, and that this patterning communicates information which serves to store and forward energy. Sounds about like most of my listening experiences.

How The Music Industry Works Like A Factory
Many find it offputting that sites like DMU distinguish between music as mere product and music which offers something transcendent, inspiring, informative, or otherwise artistic in addition to wanting to be sold on the open market and succeed there.

Sammath Debuts Video For “Ferocious Mortar Fire”
Controversial war/black metal hybrid Sammath homebrewed a video for the first track from Across the Rhine is only death, “Ferocious Mortar Fire,” demonstrating the visual aesthetics of a form of ruthlessly inhuman music that sees the evil in humanity as a product of our stupidity, not religious symbolism.

Sammath – Across the Rhine is only death (2019)
Sammath returns to the days of its second and third album with a shredding assault that emphasizes tight, technical riffing that keeps to a simple theme and develops it with precision strumming integrated with exacting percussion. This takes the war metal idea into the technical death metal realm while preserving the black metal sense of melody and epic architectures to unite these alienated and reductive riffs.

Desecresy – Towards Nebulae (2019)
Bands that possess both unique style and substance, since these are usually related, face difficulty in maintaining consistency because over time the content builds on previous ideas, and therefore the style slowly mutates. The best bands do so while maintaining continuity to the past and toward the idea they seek to explore.

Ultra Silvam – The Spearwound Salvation (2019)
The Swedish orthodox black metal brand rose because people needed a label for music adorned in the style of Dissection, yet composed in shorter riffs and cyclic songs like war metal, with a strong cover story of Satanism to help obscure its anti-social and Darwinist positions.

Sammath Prepares Across the Rhine is only death
War machine Sammath continues its attempt to synthesize the past five albums into one. This shows it combining death metal roots, traditional black metal, war metal, and its own homebrew balance of technicality and basic riffs in complex rhythms that carry on from the Asphyx and Pestilence days of Dutch death metal.
