An interesting split here. We have one beyond
horrible Norsecore band (LEGION) and some really good
folk/ambient (PERUNWIT).
The first band is LEGION, which is rumored to have GRAVELAND members (I really hope it's not true!!). To sum up why I can't stand this crap: I can inagine the members of this band one night getting drunk and deciding to jam EMPEROR covers. Their dog walks into the rehearsal room and starts to howl like there's sirens outside. The members, being as drunk as they are, accidentally recorded the session and decided it was worthy of being released!! As mentioned, the music is note-for-note ripped off from old EMPEROR and the vocalist sounds like a dog howling. There simply isn't a word to describe how fucking awful this shit is!!!! In fact, it's so bad I can't even laugh at it since I'm convinced it's a joke!!!
Now, on to PERUNWIT. It's unfair to judge them after the pathetic joke before them. These tracks later ended up on the split w/KRAINA BEZ WIATRU, but these do sound slightly different to my ears. The production is much more raw and without question it's mixed differently!! See my review of the split w/KRAINA BEZ WIATRU for their description, since I don't feel like typing it up again.
I'm really not sure if I'd recommend this to anybody, since LEGION is almost too shitty to be real and there's other PERUNWIT releases to check out if you've never heard them...
