This is the start of Dissection as we know them today; the melodic elements are beginning to shine through, however still retaining the death metal stylings of their demo. The songs are all excellent, and although more melodic, it is refreshing to hear their material before they became typical Swedish so-called "black-death." The acoustic track on here is absolutely great, with it's almost baroque quality, and the guitars pushed so far back into the darkness. Excellent album.
