Dissection, as this tape clearly shows, was an intimate makeup of those bands that originally started playing material in the traditional death metal styling, and then later switched to black metal (all the while claiming they never listened nor had any connection to death metal). It was only later, particularly on the "Into Infinite Obscurity" vinyl that the band adopted their "trademark" melodic BM sound.

This demo is for the most part uninteresting and dour, so I see no real reason to recommend it... although hearing the band with a bad production, and playing in this style is somewhat of an up.
