Musta Surma
Demo 1997
[Independent]
One of the better demos I have been privileged enough to hear lately. I
always love the transcendental cosmic feel that some bands possess in their
music, and Musta Surma have that talent. The songs are long and
structurally developed to the last, while the production is very metallic,
and perhaps even somewhat constricting. The guitars are distant, and
layered with an ever slight coat of reverb which punctuates them nicely.
Vocals are high and violent, mixed with a contrasting deep-growl voice in
designated areas. There are four tracks I believe, and they are all very
unique in their own right. Some of them, like the second or third, start
out slow and move into a violent climax, whilst others simply barge through
the entire length of the song. In essence, this presents a startling, but
interesting contrast. Similar to the voidic feel of "Opus IV: et all.
