Crawling vilely from the twisted remains of NY's Hemlock comes The Dying Light. Vokillist Lino heads this return to the essence of evil black metal. No happy, gothy, jingly keys to reassure you of your sanity and safety on this demo cd-r, just simple but well thought out riffs that inexorably drag the listener ever so slowly down into the warped depths of blackest hate, and vokills that sound as if they were removed from the charred throat of the vilest of demons with searing, red hot tongs. No blurring speed or frenzied fretwork is necessary for the force of this delivery to be overwhelming, no incomprehensible production and trebly notes will save you from the grinding torture of the spirit, the crushing of feeble hopes, the complete and utter erasure of the soul. The full length debut of this band is due out in the fall of 2002, and I for one, cannot wait.
