Destruction
All Hell Breaks Loose
[Nuclear Blast]

Upon first listen this CD ranks as a well packaged but uninspired comeback for a band with such a legendary history in the trash scene. The best part of the record happens to be the graphics and layout which give the record a classic "old school" demeanor setting the stage for what was promised to be a massive thrash return. Unfortunately the record is only a middling success with "The Final Curtain", "Butcher Strikes Back" and "Total Desaster 2000" really pushing things to the extreme level expected from the return of Schmier to the bands roster. The rest is simply somewhat above average thrash that shows competence but not much in the way of creativity. It's a good step to re-establishing Destruction as one of the more important metal acts of today but look to the old albums for the real meat of their catalog.
