Mutiilation
New False Prophet
[End All Life]
I was enthusiastic to hear the return of Mütiilation after many years of absence. This 7-inch houses the tracks "New False Prophet" and "Glorious Evil Time". The songs did not have the same exact enchantment on me as their old full-length "Vampires of Black Imperial Blood" but especially the title track was addictive and is still spinning on my turntable. How have the years treated this band? There comes across in a rather exaggerated manner that the soul of this man has been broken and he finds no pleasure in executing any of this blackness. Mütiilation is not propagating the romance of vampiric satanism anymore, but presents itself almost as a strawman, as a mockery, a warning of the trapfalls of deluded youth searching for pathways in darkness; what is this shit? A satanic cult bent on corrupting the pure, that actively discourages candidates from joining? I give this criticism of the vibes I got from Mütiilation's depression for the sake of ranting a bit, but this thing I speak of is not detracting
from the quality of the music. Anyone who liked Mütiilation before should try it again now and those who found it too raw and badly played before will be as annoyed now if not more.
