Korozy
Long Road To The Land Of Black
[043/Black Tears]

Very melodic, with loads of symphonic keyboards and occasional female moans in the background, this 47 minute long audio pathway, which should supposedly lead us into "the land of black," ends up taking the listener through some rather rosy territory instead. While I can to some extent appreciate the band's melodic versatility and fairly sufficient musical ability, these songs simply reek a bit too much of the kind of gayness that Dimmu, Cradle and their ilk are known for. The feeling that I get from this album is that of an ancient warrior getting lost on his way to that very land of black. But instead of tearing his way through impenetrable forests while slaying dozens of orcs, wild beasts and savage forest dwellers, he just sits on a tree stump, melancholically sighing about how things could have been and daydreaming of his fairy grandmother that he left at home. Some say there is too much hatred in the world. I say Korozy could surely use some. "True" black metal fans will be better off staying away from this one.
