Mantar's demo is the kind of half-evil melodic ambient stuff that some like and some hate. Imagine Mortiis as a more evil French black metaller who is interested in vermin and filth and purveying on a tape the kind of sounds and melodies you would hear in a nocturnal ritual in his forest. I often get the feeling that this kind of a demo should be really long, like 90 minutes, but most people will get bored much earlier, so no-one will listen to my complaint. Anyway I think this has a good atmosphere and its better than the cheesy crap like Mortiis and also better than the melancholic stuff with female vocals like Dargaard or Dark Sanctuary.
