Sepultura
Beneath The Remains
[Roadrunner]
Every Metal fan probably knows the name Sepultura, a
band that many people like, and many people hate. Back
in the days, Sepultura were among my favorite bands.
As I have aged, I found out that melody became more
and more important to me, whether it be cheesy
commercial bands, or complex European bands.
Nevertheless, I still find myself throwing old
Sepultura into the player from time to time.
“Beneath The Remains” shows a slight turn in
Sepultura’s style, by adding melody and thicker
production to the band. Songs on the album provide a
wall of sonic mayhem, rather then thrashing rawness.
Every song on this one is good, but none are to great,
especially cause I’m not a huge fan of Max’s vocals.
Most Metal fans should go ahead and check this one
out. Sepultura sure helped in the evolution of brutal
bands that play nowadays. Unfortunately Sepultura
would only make one more album that I like, but that
doesn’t take away from this album.
