Metallica
Ride The Lightning
[Elektra]
Metallica is a name that will live in infamy, turning
from a speed Metal bands to a more mainstream, but
still likeable band, to a glorified grunge band.
Forget about the new stuff for a while though and
remember that they did contribute some good metal back
in the days.
I still remember when I first got “Ride The
Lightning”, it was one of those albums way back in the
days that turned me on to the world of Metal. “Fight
Fire With Fire” opens this album, and from the first
moment one will note the production is good, even by
the standards of today. Hetfield’s (DIE) vocal
production is top notch, and the riffs are well
styled. Pretty much the whole album is very good.
Forget about the atrocity that is called Metallica in
the world today, and kick back and listen to Metallica
in their own little corner of history, and remember
that they did at least help lay the framework for much
of the modern heavy bands.
