Savatage
Sirens
[Metal Blade]
“Sirens” is the debut album from the masters of chunk
themselves. “Sirens in a Precursor to the great albums
that follow, but don’t let that fool you it is a
wonderful album in its own way.
Slamming its way into the cranium of the listener
from the very first riff is a good way to describe the
felling that this album projects. Jon Olivia (note I
may have spelled this name wrong on other reviews, for
that I apologize) gives birth to the vocal terror that
he would perfect in the following years. Criss Olivia
(Dammit, perhaps another past spelling error, RIP by
the way) shows that he has a talent on the axe.
“Sirens” kicks off the album with a chunky signature
Savatge style. “I Believe” and “Rage” are more tunes
to go down into the bowels of Metal history. “Sirens”
has absolutely no strike out tunes, and should be
purchased at the first opportunity you have to pick it
up.
