Steel Prophet
Book Of The Dead
[Nuclear Blast]
Steel Prophet are a band many Metalheads know, and
many may not. I’m not sure how to classify Steel
Prophet, perhaps Power Metal, perhaps not, but ill
will say one thing, they are a band I do like. When
people say a person mellows out when they get older
and listen to calmer music, it is true for me, to some
extent. Personally, I didn’t stop loving the very
heavy music, I just expanded my liking to include many
melodic bands that get written of as gay by many
people.
“Book Of The Dead” is not your average hard hitting
album. Fans of just heavy music should probably avoid
this album, for it offers very little in the way of
brutality. Melody drives this album, crossing in Iron
Maiden influence with a touch of stylistic changes.
Vocally this album is very good, and the guitar solos
are very melodic, which is a good thing for this type
of Metal.
Fans of melody driven Metal should seek this album
out, however is all you like is smashing Thrash Metal,
or brutal Death Metal, I would go ahead and pass on
this one.
