Bathory
Bathory
[Black Mark]
Bathory is a band name that everyone worth anything
knows, if you are reading this review and suddenly you
realize that you don’t know who Bathory is simply
follow these easy steps. One, turn off your computer
and walk out of the house, proceed to your local
sporting goods store, then purchase a cheap firearm.
After you have followed these simple steps purchase
some ammunition, loud the gun and shoot yourself.
Determining where one should shoot depends on how long
they have been a Metalhead. If you have been a long
time Metalhead shoot for the head or the groin. Newer
Metalheads at least have some excuse for not knowing
the mighty Bathory, so they may shoot themselves in
the foot.
Setting sarcasm aside for the time being, Bathory
have produced quite and album. Obviously when this
album was recorded, it was done on a tight budget.
Sound quality is very poor and raw, but somehow this
factor only adds to the greatness of the album. When
listing to this album, I get a feeling of how
influential it is. Venom, I feel have always had far
more influence then actual talent, but Bathory have
the same influential effect and a talent for writing
uncompromising Black Metal. Every single time I listen
to this album I get the feeling that I’ve heard some
of their influence in many other bands I listen to.
Basically what I am saying is stop reading this review
and get it now.
