I'll focus my review on the first CD, side music:

Dark Dominion - "Under A Funeral Moon"
Sydney's Dark Dominion slowed down this classic and played the guitar solo with a more melodic touch. Much into their own style but sounds a bit more "polished" than the original.

Megiddo - "Earth's Last Picture"
Megiddo perfectly captured the mighty and superior feeling of this song with ChorazaiM's highly distorted vocals. As humanity ends, comes the dawn of Megiddo!!

Thor - "Triumphant Gleam"
I've never heard of this band until this tribute, but it's truly a shame as they are the only Norwegian group here who still wants to pay homage to the founders of True Norwegian Black Metal .

Rampage - "In The Shadow Of The Horns"
Rampage are a band that one can never define or classify them, but whatever they play, "dirty old-school" should always be the best description. This "slightly re-arranged" version sounds like "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" was released in 1984! Some say Lord Vic and co. are not serious enough as professional musicians, but I say that's the charm of Rampage. Hail Satan! (this song also can be heard on their brilliant "Bellum Infinitum" album as a hidden bonus.)

Myrddraal - "En As I Dype Skogen"
I guess Myrddraal were still in their "Black Construction" demo session when they recorded this song, since it sounds quite different from their groundbreaking debut "Blood On The Mountain". The heavily used keyboards added some kinda "evil" atmosphere but it just doesn't do it to me, I think they should mix the guitars way louder as they sound really weak and thin here.

Other highlights on this CD are The Syre's industrialized "The Hordes Of Nebulah", brett's own band Mutorkseht(The Scrotum?)'s sonicwave "Transilvanian Hunger", Atroxaeon's "Under A Funeral Moon", Lycanthropy's a-fist-into-your-face "Kathaarian Life Code" and Narog's self-developed "Where Cold Winds Blow" (be sure to check out their "The Earth Drinks the Blood" demo! fuckin awesome!) Also there are three bands covering "Skald Av Satans Sol", both Conquest and Gort did it as instrumental so Demon Realm's totally fucked-up version easily stands above the aforementioned two.

To sum it all this is one of the very few tribute releases that everyone should add into their collection, and I'm really looking forward to the coming MayheM(Christcrusher Prod.) and Burzum(Deathcult Prod.) tributes with same attitude and similar lineups.

Boycott commercialism and death to sold-out rockstars!
