Eisenwinter
Reichswinter
[Glory To Hatred]
Eisenwinter is amongst the many National Socialist Black Metal hordes to be
coming from the German front these days, and in fact, along with fellow
countrymen Moonblood, I consider them to be one of the better ones.
"Reichswinter," which I believe to be one of the first releases from the
band is truly grim and misranthropic black metal in the purest vain of such
acts like Veles, Graveland, Veltmacht, and Thunderbolt. Charecteristic of
so many of these "nsbm" bands, the album starts out with a genuinely
performed synth ballad, and then jumps into some high speed BM. The first
song has a STRICKING similarity to the music which can be found on
Kristallnacht's "warspirit" release, so you know what to expect. Another
high point of this album is that 1) there is no appearance of a drum
machine, leaving the duties to an actuall person, and 2) they can actually
HANDLE (gasp!!) their own instruments...you know...like, play them!!! To
close, "Reichswinter," consisting of four well executed songs, is a worthy
addition to any underground addict's collection.
