HOLY CUNT OF THE CRUCIFIED WHORE!!!!!!!!!! These guys Fucking rule!!!!!! Kataklysm hails from Canada, where they have put out the best death metal album in years called the Mystical Gate Of Reincarnation. this Mcd, which I believe is also their first release, is so completely different from anything I had ever heard at the time, sounding like a mix between Abruptum and Death metal. And The vocals!!! The Vocals!!!!!! This bloke knows how to scream. Not that pussy Jurassic Park dinosuar "roar" this is like " three foot forearm up your anus hole" screams. The thing I like is how he will use his vocals almost as if they were an instrument, and creating structure out of them. What I mean is that instead of just blindly singing over different guitar passages, he instead uses his voice to create music, growling and screaming in pace with the rest of the band, and often changing the range in an instant. As far as the music goes on the album, it is also very creative, even to the point where it may take a while for it to sink in, and leave any kind of lasting impact on the listener. Nonetheless, this is most definitely a breath of fresh air in light of what pathetic shit has been overcrowding the "scene" for the past several years. Bravo!!! P.s: tell Fabio Ice in the back there to grow some hair, get rid of the shades, and lose the Crucifix!!! (what the hell is the deal with death metal and wearing crosses, anyone remember Dismember!!!)
