Perunwit / Kraina Bez Wiatru
Split
[Cicatrix]
I must say the Cicatrix did a VERY poor job mastering
this! The album "drags" for the entire disc, and gets
gradually worse as the cd progresses. So, as far as
I'm concerned, you're better off getting a dubbed copy
through trading. Okay, on to the review... The first
time I heard PERUNWIT was right after hearing LEGION,
which was the worst black metal band I'd ever heard at
that point (although a new band has shattered the
possibility of LEGION reclaiming this "honor"!). I
felt I didn't give them a fair chance, so I decided to
get some more of their material through trading. Even
though the tracks presented on this split are
basically the same tracks as the split w/LEGION, these
versions are so much better they sound like new songs
altogether!!! PERUNWIT plays a very different style
of folk/ambient music, which seems mostly based on
"clean" guitars, being very original and having a very
odd feel (not in a bad way!!) to their music. I guess
LORD WIND can be a comparison at times, but they
still retain their own sound. KRAINA BEZ WIATRU is
more synth-based than PERUNWIT, I personally think KBW
is better. The first track is probably my fave, as it
sounds different than all the rest. But, I think all
the tracks are great...
