Storm Of The Lights Bane
[Nuclear Blast]
My sole purpose of this review is to smash everyones favorite cd into what it
is, a piece of over-
melodic garbage.. I agree with everyone on one aspect, these guys definately
are very good at
their instruments, and very good at what they do.. its just what they do that
bothers me..
No atmosphere whatsoever (which I can live without, but this cd is completely
void of any feeling)
it drowns itself in melodies (which is NOT a good thing..), and is just
completely gay..
Vox - The vocals on this cd are a deeper type of black rasp.. very badly done
as they do not change
or do anything interesting whatsoever.. he sounds like hes doing this just
because he HAS to, and
not because he WANTS to.. Very Poor 3/10
Guitars - The guitars on this cd (although technical) are overly melodic, and
really have no feeling
to them.. as with everything on this cd, it seems as though they are playing
just because they
have to, and not because they want to.. its very bland, and very pathetic..
complete lack of
emotion... and just WAYYY too many melodies... Decent 5/10
Bass - Is there a bass guitar used on this cd? Pathetic 1/10 (didn't hear it
once)
Drums - The drummer here is the only highlight for me.. he doesn't do
anything interesting
whatsoever, but he does actually add some FEEL to the music, and some
aggression.. but this
is probably just because he is playing very fast and probably wasn't his
intention.. Good 6/10
Overall - This is a very, very disappointing CD (thought so since I FIRST
bought it, so don't
think I'm one of those people who just hates things everyone likes), I had
heard so much good
about this band, but it completely lacked anything for me.. no emotion,
completely bland, and just
full of gay melodies.. the song structure is good, but its nothing special..
in short-this cd lacks
what makes underground music so good (esp. black metal) EMOTION... Garbage
3/10
