Lust "Apocalyptic Torment" Demo 10/99 starts the tape. First minute or so Intro "Oh Horror" (Rev. 8:7-13) has the trademark Lust vocals with Szabios Diabolus doing his sorrowful wolf/fallen angel-type wailing/crying. "Storming Under Steel" is like six minutes of chaos. Good growls and maniacal riffs that sound inspired by beer, pills and war movies. "Unholy Calvary" continues the insanity, more crazy whammy bar squeals and slow grindy passages. This shit makes you think violently and that death is looming in your room.
The production is clear enough now to make out what's going on, but the power has been robbed a bit, and at last report, there are now only '600 million screaming Chinamen' (Red Dawn, Bernie!)
"Fallen One" sees the Lust gang crank up the lunatic frenzy a notch.

"Awakening of Homodeus" is a little more melodic (not a word to associate with Edmonton's Lust) but, as you start reading the lyrics about killing Jehovah, the speed and mayhem hit you. Last is Outro "Genocide Bitch" not "Lightning and the Sun" (even the band does not know why those lyrics were included).

UNHOLY ARCHANGEL are raw black/death metal. Fuzzy guitar sound and choppy playing remind me of old metal (like early Sepultura). Kind of cool to hear them talk about Greek gods instead of satan, etc etc like most bands do.

Kult "Be welkome in my dream of humanity genocide" Demo is what this tape was leading up to. An improvised rehearsal of noisy, grindy death/black metal. Does it get any more distorted and heavier than this? The musicianship is so primitive, Hellhammer look like Wagner and Bach compare to the brutality andandsimplicity of Kult.
