I had gotten a flyer comparing HERETIC to BEHERIT and the like. Instead, this is SLOW black metal with doom and old heavy metal influences. Parts remind me of VENOM and early CELTIC FROST more than anything (but slower). The best thing about this release are the raw production and the vocals are really grim. While the first few tracks are quite okay, the album tends to get very boring after a while...
