Mercyful Fate
Time
[]
I always call myself a fan of Mercyful Fate, but I usually point out
that it's the old material that really does it for me. This, for the
most part, is true, but "Time" has something special that reminds me
ALOT of old Fate that the other recent albums lack. I can't quite put my
finger on it, but it might have something to do with the way King does
the vocals...he does more of that mournful/crying voice that was so
abundant on the first 2 full length albums...but he seemed to stop doing
that after "Don't Break the Oath". Maybe you know what I mean....if so,
he brings that "old" style back on this album, and it really adds to it.
Musically as well, this album is top-notch. This is the *only* latter
day MF album that I truly enjoy. They must have done *something*
different...or my brain's just gone.
