The true black underground strikes with yet another unique 7", this time from an unknown Greek band (with one of the fellows from Nar Mataru, no?), and the German NS black metal band (the true) Frost.
Kaiadas play a mid-paced style of black metal, at times reminding me of some of the Nordic bands who were influenced by Darkthrone, but couldn't quite capture what the true legends already had. Regardless, it's powerful stuff, especially part way through the song when it stops and then starts again with a war cry.
Frost, or (the true) Frost as they call themselves, had released three demos before this in extremely limited quantities, and as I wished for in the review of their last demo, they've finally found a track onto a 7". With unique (if not impressive) lyrics to back up their low-fi brand of black metal, I fully appreciate this band. This new track actually reminds me of old Mortuary Drape, what with the slow paced solo and ancient sounding power chords behind it...
