In the past, something (or someone) has caused me to think "the scene has NEVER been any worse than this!" But, given time, something else always happens to make it lower. This compilation is one of those things that has made me think what I mentioned above! Ugh, where to begin... To start, there's only ONE good track on this entire 2cd set!! Yes, only ONE!!! That track being "God Of Disturbance And Friction" by DARK THRONE (I believe this track to be from "Krieg", however I only have a dubbed copy of this so I can't confirm this to be true). Perhaps one of my favorite DARK THRONE tracks, bringing back the raw and grim memories of "Transylvanian Hunger" (but not quite as raw of sound)... Although all the other songs are pure trash, here's a few examples of why I think this: From judging the new GEHENNA material, they should change their name to CANNIBAL CORPSE. The first of three DODHEIMSGARD tracks starts off like techno/rave music, then turns into rap samples halfway through it!! "Ravishing Grimness" by DARK THRONE, well, see my review of this CD elsewhere to know what I think of this utter crap. EMPEROR destroy the classic THORNS track "Aries Descends" and EIBON sounds like "Ravishing Grimness" with Pantera vocals (considering Phil Anselmo is in the band, maybe it's expected)... Alright, I think everyone gets the idea why I think this is one of the WORST CDs ever released!! So for the time being, I feel the "scene" is at it's lowest point ever. However, I'm certain something will happen to make it even worse, I'm just patiently waiting to see what it'll be...
