It's quite safe to say HELLFIRE absolutely worships early BATHORY (or maybe even early VENOM), but at the same time they don't sound like typical retro t(h)rash. I personally think this mCD is EXCELLENT, as it reminds me of when black metal actually sounded EVIL! The sound of the instruments and even the production is almost identical to the first BATHORY album, and the vocals remind me a bit of Quorthon (although not as high-pitched). One difference is that the bass of HELLFIRE seems to be distorted, as BATHORY's was not (the latter-day VENOM influence comes in here). Those who like black metal that takes you back to the early '80s should get this at once! One of the best No Colours releases, EVER!!!
