Killer black metal from the swedish lands, who avoids the trap that most swedish bands fall into, the melodic harmonic and utterly dull path that most bands from there finds themselves trapped in. One could call them a more raw and primitive version of Dark Funeral, as one quickly makes the connotation between Svartsyn and Dark Funeral due to Draugen their drummer, which also handled the battery on Dark Funeral's infamous self titled mCD. But it is for certain that Svartsyn delivers a far more foul and putrid form of black metal than Dark Funeral, far more aggressive dark and sinister deranged devil worshipping blasphemy, with some of the most sickening demonic vocal work I have heard in a long time. This is a piece of typical scandinavian black metal that just works all the way, one can feel the darkness and hate conjured up during the recording of this piece of black metal art, and that is the way it should be.
