Krisiun

The aural equivalent of having your teeth beaten out of your face with a tire iron...Krisiun do NOT fuck around. This is death metal of the finest order, and unlike a lot of other so-called "brutal" DM bands, Krisiun actually know how to write a catchy riff. I've only heard a handful of tracks from the later Krisiun albums, and so direct comparisons are near impossible from my end of things, but if memory serves me well, this is by far their most "in your face" album - the others were heavier/faster, but this one has a lot more energy, partly due to the production (which is razor sharp - absolutely no subtlety whatsoever), and also in part due to the "thrash" (ala RiB era Slayer) influence. As many of you already know, I've never been very keen on death metal (and the "brutal" variety in particular), so on those rare occasions that a band of that genre impresses me, it's a fair bet to say they've got something special going on. Krisiun are one of those bands. Highly recommended.
