Dark Funeral
Teach Children To Worship Satan
[No Fashion]

This mini-CD consists of one brand new DF track (to give a little preview of the upcoming full-length) and four cover songs of bands that have influenced DF the most.

The new DF track is entitled "An Apprentice of Satan" and gives great expectations for the upcoming album. It sounds pretty much "basic" DF, with great sounding infernal guitar melodies and blasting drums, but this time there's maybe more mid and slow-paced parts. Vocals are also pretty much the same, with some deep growls here and there. Production on this is in my opinion little bit too polished, but of course it's a good thing when sounds are very clear.. still I like more of Vobiscum Satanas' sounds. For some reason Vobiscum Satanas had much better and deeper atmosphere while the melodies are very much alike on this new track.. maybe it's the sounds. So, no big surprises, good ol' Dark Funeral continues being one of the best Black Metal bands on universe.

About the cover songs I can't say much because Mayhem is only good one. First cover is King Diamond's "The Trial" and it sucks ass in every aspect. Second cover is Slayer's "Dead Skin Mask" which is listenable song but too soft for my taste, the original song had more aggressiveness. Third cover is Sodom's "Remember the Fallen" and doesn't interest me at all. Fifth and last cover is mighty Mayhem's "Pagan Fears" and it's a fucking great piece of "True Black Metal". All covers are played as they are so there's no point listening them.. originals are better. What's the point playing covers exactly as they are?

Well I guess this mini-CD is reasonable purchase for only die-hard Dark Funeral fans like myself. Only one (fucking great) track isn't really worth the money, but... oh yeah, it also contains new live video for "An Apprentice of Satan", good quality mpeg file.
