AMESTIGON is notable mostly because it was the band of Tharen (demo-era ABIGOR
vocalist) and Thurisaz (current ABIGOR vocalist).
ANGIZIA is notable mostly because it’s generally acclaimed as one of the most
annoying pseudo-black metal bands ever.
On this apparently quite rare split, the AMESTIGON part kicks some ”general purpose” black metal that doesn’t even try to reach the uniqueness of ABIGOR. For mass-minded listeners this will sound plain but this side of the split has been performed impersonally and with a cutting intent – it has power.
ANGIZIA is like they usually are, long songs with pseudo-classical and renaissance influences, keyboards everywhere and classically trained singing. For those who actually like ANGIZIA, this might be something to hear, since within this early split’s primitivity there is some originality (that later ANGIZIA lost) that can be appreciated by less sophisticated ears too.
